Ok, so after numerous requests for my everyday foundation routine I decided to finally sit down and let you guys in on my, “Little Secrets!” I shared in past posts the fundamentals of foundation and some of the basic application I learned in Brittany Kerr, Jason Aldean’s wife’s, makeup class. All of the products I shared and linked in the first post were some of her favorite things. In this post I am going to share some of my current, “Must Haves!” So let’s get started!
I. Prime – MAC Prep + Prime: This amazing spray is A MUST HAVE!! It is so amazing for various reasons! This primer is a spray (which I love) it gives me hydration while making my makeup go on flawlessly. This primer is for any type skin: dry, oily or combination! This same primer acts as a setting spray as well once all of your makeup is on…. So you basically get two products for the price of one and this bottle will last you months if not an entire year!
II. Foundation – Tarte Amazonian Clay – Not only is this foundation exactly what it claims to be, 12 hour full coverage, but it goes on the face so lightly you would wonder if you even had any on!
Tarte Amazonion is formulated WITHOUT:
What else you need to know:
Whether skin is oily, dry, or combination, “skin-smart” Amazonian clay will intuitively adjust to meet and address your skin concerns for makeup that wears better, longer, and truer. This revolutionary foundation reduces the appearance of pores, discolorations, and imperfections and ensures a perfectly flawless complexion every time. (directly from the website)
Tarte has an absolute amazing Airbrush Finish Bamboo Brush that truly does give you that airbrush finish! The bristles are compact and really get the coverage exact! This brush is amazing!!! Some brushes are worth the SPLURGE and this one definitely is! Christmas is coming up and this one should definitely be on your list!
III. Concealer/Highlighter! Lancome Maquicomplet in color Ivoire (the lightest shade) I like to draw a triangle from the inner corner of the eye down to the cheek bone and then back up to the corner of the eye and then fill in the triangle. Do this on both sides! Then add some between the eyebrows, on the lower middle of your chin and buff it out! I use a Beauty Blender and us the end with the tip. I dampen my beauty blender and then squeeze it out so it is damp before I begin blending my concealer!
IV. Powder – Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder – This POWDER IS A MUST HAVE!! This powder truly sets your makeup so it looks flawless and minimizes pores! It is silky and diffuses imperfections! I use the amazing Real Techniques Powder Brush that’s only $7.99 from Amazon!!
V. Contour – Smashbox Step by Step Contour Kit (I used Light/Medium) – This kit is so self explanatory and even has a diagram in the kit for where to apply the contour, bronzer and highlight! This kit is so easy to use! It is a little pricey, but so worth it!! To best find where your contour should go, I suck my cheeks in (like making a fish face) and where the cheekbones are I apply the contour right beneath! The bronzer can go above the contour on the cheeks and sometimes I use this as my cheek color!
VI. Highlight – I’m still obsessed with Champagne Pop by Becca Cosmetics and Jaclyn Hill! This highlight is perfection and truly amazing for any time of year! You won’t be sorry with this purchase!!
HOLIDAY SPECIAL!!! So I do not yet have this palette, but it’s on my Christmas Wishlist…. Jaclyn Hill did another Limited Edition collaboration with Becca Cosmetics to give you all three different highlight shades and one of the shades is the “Champagne Pop.” So, if you are wanting to try a few shades, then this is the palette for YOU!
I hope you all enjoy some of my favorite go-to products as much as I do! Comment any questions you may have or send me an email to email@example.com if you have any questions on what I wrote or on a specific product! I AM VERY EXCITED to say I also have a MAKEUP SHOP on the website that I will be updating with my favorite products, so check back every so often to see what I’m loving! Thanks for reading and don’t forget to, “Make Today a Hollyday!”
